Interim Contract & Supplier Management Associate Lead / Construction -Hybrid Working – PSR 1JP00061200
Pay Rate: Up to £459.68 per day pay range subject to IR35 status

Location: Wiltshire / Hampshire (THIS IS ESSENTIAL)

Security Clearance: SC


Key Accountabilities:

  • The strategic relationship with suppliers and senior internal and external stakeholders while building collaboration within and across organisational boundaries.
  • The development and management of key sourcing activities to meet project goals while minimising risk.
  • The trusted advisor in Contract Management and commercial initiatives to both stakeholders and your team members, ensuring compliance to the appropriate processes and operating procedures.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with suppliers, clients and other key stakeholders with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance.
  • Lead supplier performance management, including improving sustainability and social responsibility.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with your local teams to deploy and implement the defined strategies.
  • Lead the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities in accordance with processes.
  • Engage as an active partner with the programme team to ensure new contracts are effectively embedded and be part of a cultural change in behaviours as we move to a category management approach and collaborative behaviours.
  • Lead and guide junior staff members within your team.
  • Provide commercial advice and mentorship to stakeholders, some of whom will be senior members
  • Be accountable to the Assistant Deputy Head for any commercial activity you undertake.

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distil and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Relevant Contract Management experience ideally within Projects and Construction

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • MCIPS (or be willing to work towards it within two years of joining)
  • Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.
  • Strong experience assessing risk and concisely explaining complex issues to principal business owners.
  • Experience working in a large, highly matrixed organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distil and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data.
  • Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics.
