This role is an integral part of Commercial Services. This role will manage the relationship between SSCL, MPS Finance, MPS Commercial Services, the business and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to commercial colleagues on ad-hoc basis as part of the team supporting business as usual and project activities.
  • Support the project of the reduction of aged debt.
  • Undertake compliance checks as required.
  • Maintain master data such as location codes.
  • P2P query management and resolution for both internal and external users.
  • Working closely with the Commercial Team and SSCL for an efficient end to end P2P process.
  • Analysing data from corporate commercial systems (on/off contract spend) to help identify and drive value for money, efficiency and best practice opportunities.
  • Support with continuous improvement projects.
  • Management of Commercial mailboxes (Accounts Payable and Third Party).
  • Third Party Disclosures- raising of invoices to Lawyers.
  • Commercial management of Incomplete Purchase Orders.
  • Management of Commercial Post (and support with the reduction of paper invoices).
  • Commercial management of appropriate adult invoices.
  • Commercial management of medical claims.
  • Review and approval of Blanket and Contract agreements.
  • Review and approval of new supplier requests within the My Hub portal.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, or relevant field.

 

Skills & Experience:

  1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  2. Experience of using a P2P system, with the ability to manipulate and interrogate the system in a high level of detail.
  3. Effective communicator who can build working relationships with a range of suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders.
  4. Able to proactively manage own workload to deliver to deadlines and know when to seek support.
  5. Strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with enquiries, requests, complaints/escalations in a professional and proactive manner.
  6. Able to analyse and interpret data sets.
  7. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
