Candidates must have an awareness of health & safety workplace issues/regulations and be prepared to complete risk assessments. Ensure the delivery of a high-quality maintenance service at the scheme location where the Caretaker is based to the satisfaction of residents and C&C staff. Work with the local scheme staff to ensure the maintenance of the building and grounds is carried out in accordance with agreed standards and specifications ensuring that contractual obligations are met by external contractors, in order to support C&C in providing a high quality service. Undertake small scale building maintenance tasks to the internal and external parts of the building.

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required from time to time and as directed by the Scheme Manager or other Officers with delegated authority.
  • Physical activity is a part of many roles within C&C; Care Assistants, Cleaners and Caretakers have an obvious need to be physically fit, however there is also a need to lift and bend in most office based roles.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and improving own professional knowledge and skills.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as requested by management following the successful completion of specific training and personal skills development.

Qualifications: 

  • Maths and English at GCSE level
  • BTEC / A-Level Qualification

Experience: 

  • Experience and knowledge of residential or commercial building maintenance
  • General experience/ understandingof electrical, plumbing and building maintenance

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Excellent/clear communication and numerical skills
  • Excellent punctuality, good time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to demonstrate open, honest and ethical behaviour in all dealings with contractors and tenants
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment dealing with conflicting priorities, example of time management
