This opening assignment is for 3 months  

City: ELLESMERE PORT, Cheshire

A Business Support Assistant is required to provide business and administrative support within the Unit.

Key responsibilities:

  • Arranging and rearranging meetings.
  • Diary management of meetings in three locations and for a number of staff.
  • Following up queries sent to the Unit and chasing information.
  • Answering telephone calls when required.
  • Typing, photocopying and general admin duties.
  • Process financial transactions using oracle IBS including creating and closing requisitions and purchase orders, requests for payments, mark view, staff expenses, handling cash and cheques, standing orders and direct debits.
  • Input to and update service and customer data bases ensuring that the accuracy and integrity of the information is maintained. Retrieve and extract data in the form of summary reports, excel spreadsheets or word documents so that managers and external organisations and agencies that can be assisted in their decision making to enable them to control budgets, reconcile records and manage projects in accordance with financial regulations.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate well with internal and external people.
  • Able to work well as part of a multi-agency team.
  • Able to manage deadlines.
  • Awareness of GDPR.
  • Both a team player and on occasions be able to work under little or no supervision.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
