Temporary Business Support Admin Assistant - Recycling & Waste

Office based
The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Business Development & Fleet Team and Recycling & Waste operational team. This involves face to face, email and telephone contact with businesses, service users, the contact centre, operational managers and staff, ensuring excellent customer service is provided at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full and efficient administrative support to Business Development & Fleet team and Recycling & Waste operational team.
- Input relevant data on to a range of systems, updating records to aid the smooth running for colleagues within the business.
- Raise works orders and request for services.
- Maintain a range of systems/databases/service records to support the business areas.
- Proactively support initiatives to develop the business and generate income.
- Taking payment for services and managing cash transaction in compliance with Council Financial Regulations.
- Weekly reconciliation of payments received.
- Produce statistical information to support the service area with regard to performance and budget monitoring.
- Create, review and update working procedures.
- Undertake and co-ordinate mail-merges for the business.
- Assist with processing operational staff timesheets.
- Liaise directly with businesses and services users wishing to organise/plan/enquire about services of the business.
- As part of a team provide a reception function.
- Participate in a rota to ensure effective Reception cover.

Qualifications:
- Minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths & English.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to read and understand written procedures.
- Experience of working in an administrative support role in a busy office.
- Experience of dealing with members of the public and customers, including good customer care.
- Experience of cash handling and reconciliation.
- Experience of prioritising workload to meet demands of role.
- ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
