The successful candidate will be working within educational settings and with professionals to review their SEN support and inclusive policies and strategies to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Supporting Early Years Providers so that they have the required skills to undertake effective and efficient Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and can write quality Education, Health and Care plans as part of SEN Service’s quality assurance protocol.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offering advice on inclusion of children with send across private voluntary, and independent settings including preschools, schools, day nurseries and childminders.
- Supporting SENCOS and early year’s practitioners in planning provision, modelling teaching and intervention strategies and focused assessment.
- Early year’s practitioners in planning provision, modelling teaching and intervention strategies, focused assessment, monitoring and reviewing progress of children accessing the eyfs curriculum.
- Closely monitoring the impact of provision and inclusion funding so children make accelerated progress in their learning and development, enabling them to achieve good outcomes.
- Ensuring that accurate data regarding the anticipated need for special school places is available in good time to ensure place planning is as precise as possible and that statutory timelines are adhered to.
- Provide data and other information to the early years quality and inclusion lead to allow an annual evaluation of the service, and to facilitate the collection of data to inform future developments within the service and borough wide.
