Candidates will be required to travel around the County (mileage can be claimed) in your own vehicle.
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for providing comprehensive floating support to homelessness applicants who are placed in temporary accommodation whilst being assessed under Homelessness legislation, to enable the applicant to successfully maintain a tenancy both in temporary accommodation and when in more settled accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess applicants for support needs and agree on a support plan and outcomes to be achieved. This will include setting appropriate levels, method and frequency of support required.
- Assess the risks for each applicant and yourself and ensure this is reviewed and updated regularly.
- Regularly review the progress of support and analyse and report on the outcomes achieved.
- Prompt and encourage customers to establish and maintain settled lifestyles.
- Provide re-enablement / life skills work both face to face and in group workshops.
- Support applicants with money management including maximising benefits and accessing money / debt advice.
- Support applicants to comply with the conditions of their tenancy.
- Prepare applicants for the move from temporary accommodation to more settled accommodation.
- Liaise effectively and appropriately with other statutory and voluntary agencies and signpost applicants for appropriate specialist assistance.
- Provide advice, encouragement, and support in regard to education, training and work opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all applicants.
- Ensure that all information is sensitively handled and managed in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures.

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
