Role: Category Manager - Research & Development
Contract Length: Anticipated 10 months
Location: London, or any UK wide hub

Our client is looking to hire a Category Manager - Research & Development (R&D) for approximately 10 months.
As a Category Manager, your main responsibilities would be:
- Motivate and manage a professional commercial team to deliver corporate outcomes and to ensure continuous improvement.
- Deliver strategic, high risk, high value contracts and frameworks as part of a multi-functional team.
- Work with colleagues to deliver customer outcomes whilst recognising the importance of supply positioning and supplier preferencing.
- Provide expert advice on commercial risk management and deliver mitigation plans / strategies to manage identified risks at corporate level.
- Driving forward a cross department approach to agreements with key organisations and suppliers
Key requirements:
- A proven track record of procuring and delivering successful contracts/frameworks – NOTABLE in the Research Category.
- In depth knowledge of the Research & Development Sector
- Substantial experience of influencing senior internal and external stakeholders in a commercial environment at a strategic level.
- An accomplished commercial professional with a track record of setting high standards and delivering results in a complex and demanding environment.
- Experience in delivering innovative Commercial Agreements.
- In depth knowledge of PCR & other relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of Research and Development Legislation and the R&D market.
Desirable:
- CIPS
- Frascati Exemption knowledge
- Public Sector/Research Council Background
