Location: Location - Manchester or Leeds or Newcastle or Sheffield

An Interim Infrastructure Engineer is required to design, build and run all team hosting infrastructure including Public Cloud and On-Premises hosting, and help product and service owners to transition to the Cloud.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing an end-to-end ‘multi-cloud’ hosted service for the team Product Development Units.
  • Providing a securely connected hosting service, removing team’s reliance on traditional hosting solutions and contracts.
  • Standardising, simplifying and automating with underpinning processes, training and tools to accelerate delivery.
  • This role in the HCS Operations team is ideally suited to an Engineer with significant experience in management and administration of Red Hat and/or Oracle Linux based systems.
  • As a Linux Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for configuration and support of physical and virtual IT operations solutions and services.
  • To work in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers making sure services are delivered and used according to industry and organisational best practices, standards, service requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout the lifecycle.
  • To act as 2nd/3rd line support for incidents, problems and changes to solutions and services, and will provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects ensuring delivery of requisite non- functional requirements and to continual service improvement.
  • To work closely with Architects, Site Reliability Engineers, Delivery Managers, and Product Managers, supporting the implementation and operationalisation of on premise hosted products and services.
  • You will provide technical support and assistance to infrastructure and transition projects
  • To develop junior team members by coaching and mentoring whilst assisting in the delivery of a first class service, and consistent levels of capability as required by the organisation.
  • To support 24*7 critical services with a requirement to provide out-of-hours standby on call support as part of a scheduled rotation.
  • To work out of hours where required to support scheduled change activities.
