Role: Operational Readiness Manager / Project Manager *Re-opened*
Contract Length: Anticipated 12 months
Location: Reading – 3 days on site and 2 days WFH

Our client is looking to hire a Operational Readiness Manager / Project Manager for approximately 12 months.
The role is responsible for bridging the gap between project delivery(machinery / infrastructure) and operational capability. The post holder will deliver operational Readiness Management expertise, guidance and direction for Projects.
We are looking for candidates with project management background – delivering projects or experience working in an operational space. You will have full project life-cycle experience – build, construction commissioning handover.
Key accountabilities:
- Analyse, plan, corral and integrate the inputs, systems, processes, procedures, personnel and other enablers required to enable the asset to operate, ensuring they are synchronised with asset delivery, installation and commissioning – so that Acceptance, Transition and Operations occur as soon as practicable.
- Develop and own the Operational Readiness (OR) and Transition Plan (ORT) for assigned projects.
- Support the Capability/Project Sponsor and Head of Technology Centre - ensure all issues on all lines of activity to enable asset operation are identified, owned, addressed, and resolved.
- Ensure comprehensive cross lines of development/activity integration and stakeholder management to support achieving optimal operational readiness.
- Lead, coach and develop the Designate Operations Team.
Key requirements:
- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment is desirable.
- Experience delivering research type projects
- Nuclear experience (desirable)
- Large project delivery experience
- Evidence of project management competence e.g., APM qualifications.
- Understand the full project lifecycle
