Role: Small Works Manager - FM/Construction / Engineering
Contract Length: Anticipated 6 months
Location: Weybridge – required 4 days per week onsite
Pay Rate: Up to £600 per day pay range subject to IR35 status
Our client is looking to hire a Small Works Manager for approximately 6 months.
You will ensure satisfactory governance for procurement and delivery for all small works including repairs, refurbishment and additional minor projects.
You will have the ability to work in a reactive environment that is also highly regulated and solve complex problems to keep the site operational to allow business as usual.
Key accountabilities:
- Oversee life cycle of Business Change Proposals projects ensuring value for money during the tendering process whilst adhering to procurement processes.
- Governance of the delivery of the work, working with the service provider, including quality assurance, project sign off and witness testing and ensuring the service provider updates the CAFM system accordingly.
- Manage the Business Case Proforma process for site maintenance and health and safety requirements or operational process improvements and working with key stakeholders including APHA and VMD.
- Manage the overall schedule of works ensuring they are delivered to agreed timescales.
- Manage projects online, updating and producing dashboards and reports.
- Ability to manager diverse and fast paced workload with a vast number of projects currently in progress at Weybridge
- Ad hoc support to cover diverted resource within the team as needed.
Key requirements:
- Relevant experience as a Small Works Manager in FM/Construction or Engineering
- H&S and Environment related qualification (e.g.SMSTS)
- Experience of preparing and reviewing contract documentation and the administration of contracted works
- Project Management skills, and ability to manage multiple small projects concurrently
- Good Stakeholder Management skills
- Previous commercial experience, including, tendering and meeting procurement regulations.
- Experience on a large estate, ideally life science one
Desirable skills & experience
- Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques
