Interim Employment Litigation Lawyer -Hybrid Working – PSR 1JP00061877
Pay Rate: £25.46 per Hour PAYE DOE

Location: Bristol (40% in office 60% from home.

An experienced employment litigator, is required for this role with experience in mitigating employment tribunal claims. Employment law experience is vital.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To comply with the team Quality policies
  • To manage broad range of varied case work activities complying with policies, standards, procedures and service level agreements set, divisional and team level.
  • To deal with complex and non routine cases exercising appropriate levels of delegation and risk management
  • To meet chargeable hours targets.
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensible case files.
  • To complete necessary administrative tasks e.g. recording chargeable hours, maintaining financial records, recording all client interactions.
  • To co-ordinate all activities relating to the successful completion of the case including arranging cover for planned absences.
  • To ensure the timely handling of invoices during each case.
  • To ensure all outstanding invoices have been dealt with before case closure.
  • To produce a prognosis letter at the outset of each case and update during the life of each case.
  • To make effective use of panel counsel and other external legal resources.
  • To provide a legal service that addresses client needs from outset of each case through to case completion.
  • To provide a legal service that is proactive not reactive
  • To manage all aspects of the client relationship for each allocated case.
  • To align the service provided with the client needs in a way that enhances the team's reputation.
  • To build and maintain relationships with clients demonstrating an understanding of commercial, political and policy context including effective use of the relevant client care system
  • To ensure each client is aware of the agreed extent of the service to be provided and cost implications.
  • To keep each client informed as the case progresses.
  • To give clients advanced warning of foreseeable changes e.g. planned absences; permanent change of Case Officer Contact; additional costs incurred.
  • To keep Reporting Officer informed of significant client issues as they occur and agree how these will be addressed.
  • To put forward suggestions for providing added value client services (e.g. training, briefings).
