This opening assignment is for 2-3 months

City: CAMBRIDGE, Cambridgeshire

An Administrator is required to support the daily running of the depot and answering calls from colleagues and customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Answer all inbound calls in a polite and professional manner logging the details accurately in
  • Data check, interrogation and input/update into spreadsheets.
  • Data update from spreadsheet information into bespoke software. Interrogating/investigating data and reporting outcomes.
  • Processing information/documentation requests.
  • Waste collection round checking, progress of rounds, reporting to management team where issues identified. Reallocation of work between waste collection rounds. Operation of weighbridge for incoming and outgoing waste for export, inputting of tickets, photographs, weighbridge ticket update.
  • Dealing with visitors - organising meetings and rooms, refreshments etc. Stationery ordering.
  • Build strong relationships with both external and internal customers. Ensure prompt resolution of complaints with a strong focus on customer retention.
  • Assist credit control with outstanding debts by way of query resolution.
  • Understand the daily driver debrief process and deal with any issues raised maintaining records of actions in
  • Fulfil Health and Safety responsibilities by ensuring that all work undertaken is in accordance with the company’s Health & Safety policies and procedures and any relevant legislation.
  • Undertake any other such duties as may reasonably be required within the Service Centre. Undertake any training and development as required. Support the Administration Coordinator in ad hoc projects.

  • Previous administration experience.
  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Waste industry experience would be beneficial.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Good people management skills.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Numerate and PC literate with good telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative in high pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
